The GATE admit card has been released and most of the candidates must have downloaded it by now but are you still the one who can’t find a way to download the admit card? Well, here are some simple steps by which you can successfully download your GATE admit card.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website for GATE Admit Card Download

  • The first and foremost step is to go to the GATE 2024 official website where the admit card has been released.
  • The candidate can also visit the GOAPS official website for the same but remember that the GOAPS website changes every year.

Step 2: Proceed to the GOAPS/GATE Website and Log in With your Enrolment ID and Password

  • The next step is to log in to the website you choose for the GATE admit card download.
  • Use the enrolment ID as the username and the password to log in.

Step 3: After Successful Login GATE Admit Card appears on the Screen

  • After the candidate successfully logs into the panel, the admit card option will appear.  
  • When the candidate clicks on it the released admit card of the candidate will open.

Step 4: Carefully Review All Details on Your Admit Card

  • Before the GATE admit card download the candidates are requested to kindly go through the details listed in the admit card and check if they are all correct and do not contain any errors.

Step 5: If the Details are Correct Download it

  • If the candidate finds no error in their admit card then they can proceed to the final step of downloading it.
  • The download option will appear on the screen and the candidates can easily download their GATE admit card in PDF format.

Details Printed on the GATE Admit Card

The GATE admit card is the most important document for the candidates appearing for the exam. Candidates must show their printed admit card to enter the exam venue. The GATE admit card contains many important information which are crucial for the candidates. Candidates are advised to check all the details in the GATE admit card 2024. If they find any error in the GATE Admit Card, they are requested to contact the help desk of the local IIT for assistance.

  • Applicant's Name: The applicant's name will appear on the admit card.
  • Signature: The submitted signature of the candidate will appear on the GATE admit card.
  • Photograph: The admit card will include the same photograph submitted at the time of registration. The candidates will also have to bring the same passport-size photo on the day of the examination.
  • Exam Date: Exam dates are different for each subject so candidates should check the correct date and subject they have applied for.
  • Time Slot: Since the exam takes place in 6 sessions, the document will also include information about the slot the examination will take place.
  • Registration Number: This unique number is issued to the applicant upon registration. The registration number will be a unique number to apply for the PSU recruitment process.
  • Test Center Address: The address or place where the applicants have to appear for the test will also be mentioned. It may be a problem if the exam center is far away, so candidates are advised to visit the center one day before the exam date so that they can reach it easily on the day of the exam.
  • GATE Paper/Code: The name of the course or program the candidate has applied for is mentioned. So the GATE code/paper for computer science students is CS/IT.

Important Guidelines

The IIT conducting the exam lays down the necessary guidelines and guidelines for the candidates to follow, which are:

  • Candidates cannot appear for the exam without a GATE Admit Card 2024.
  • GATE Admit Card should be printed on A4 paper.
  • Bring a valid and recent photo ID with the admit card.
  • To ensure correct identification, all candidates are requested to arrive at the test venue/center 60 minutes/1 hour before the test.
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring personal calculators, watches, mobile phones, or other electronic devices into the examination hall.
  • If during the examination it is found that a candidate has a prohibited object, they will be responsible for the penalties imposed on them.
  • Candidates are advised not to bring any valuables into the examination hall as the authorities are not responsible for the loss of property.
  • The candidates can enter your seat 45 minutes before the exam start time and enter 20 minutes before the exam start time.
  • At this point, the candidates can read the instructions that appear on their computer screen.
  • Candidates are not allowed to enter the exam room after 9:30 am and they are not allowed to leave the room before the end of the exam.
  • A virtual or on-screen calculation is provided for numerical calculations during testing.
  • The exam supervisor will provide a rough paper for rough work and calculations.
  • Do not bring any clipboards or writing paper.
  • Candidates should not tamper with the information contained in the GATE e-Admit Card 2024.
  • Candidates should retain the card till the counseling/admission period.

Common Issues While Downloading GATE Admit Card

While the students download their GATE admit card they tend to forget their username/enrollment ID or password to log into the panel. Here are some steps by which the students can change/retrieve their enrolment ID or password.

Forgot Your GATE 2024 Enrolment IDs

In case the candidate forgets their enrolment ID, the following can be done to retrieve it.

  • Check your registered email ID.
  • After successful registration for the GATE exam, the application details are emailed to the candidates.
  • Candidates can also look at the printout of their GATE 2024 application form for the same.

OR

  • The candidates should tap on the “Forgot Enrollment ID” icon.
  • The candidates can then submit their registered mobile number.
  • The enrollment ID will directly be sent to the candidate’s email ID and registered mobile number.

Forgot Your GATE 2024 Password

If in case the candidate forgets their login password, they can follow these simple steps to change/reset it.

  • The password can be reset from the GOAPS portal.
  • By tapping on the “Forgot Password” a new screen will be displayed.
  • After filling in the required details the candidates can fill in the new password.

OR

  • The candidates can tap on the “Request for OTP” icon.
  • An OTP will be delivered to the candidates on their registered mobile number.
  • Submit the OTP.
  • Reset the password. 

Key Points to Remember for Your GATE Admit Card

  • Candidates should print out the GATE Admit Card taken in A4 size for verification purposes and bring it to the examination centre along with the original valid photo ID specified at the time of application.
  • Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will not provide duplicate copies of GATE admit cards at the exam centre or online in any case.
  • Candidates are advised to keep their GATE Admit Card safe and secure.
  • You not only have to take the exam but also get access to GATE 2024 counselling and seat allotment through the GATE admit card.
  • GATE Admit Card will not be issued in 2024 to candidates who did not complete or did not register.
  • If the authorities find information not in the prescribed format or reject it, your GATE application will be rejected and no admit card will be issued.
  • Applicants must bring a photo ID and a valid admission card and present them at the centre for verification.
  • Candidates should make sure that their photograph and signature appear on the GATE Hall Ticket 2024.

GATE 2024 Exam Day Guidelines

If you are appearing for the GATE exam for the first time, here are some guidelines that are to be followed by the candidates on the day of their examination.

  • Candidates are advised to report to the GATE examination center at least 30 minutes before the start of the test to facilitate a physical search at the center or at the time given in the GATE admit card.
  • Center candidates are not allowed to enter the examination hall after the commencement of the examination.
  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination center before completing the GATE 2024 examination and even if the candidate completes the exam before time they will not be allowed to leave early.  
  • Students cannot carry their calculators inside the examination hall.
  • A virtual scientific calculator can be used which will appear on their computer screen.
  • Candidates should leave the examination center early to avoid traffic jams and congestion.
